There are many working ways to get GMail working behind firewall or proxied server. The most famous ones are by using Proxy server as gateway and also by enabling GMail pop3 option and checking the mail using web based pop3 clients. This methods seems to be cut down slowly by firewalls as well as we use them. At the same time GMail-Lite stopped working for me and also some others!
Another workaround to accessing GMail behind firewall is by accessing the email wap system via a wap emulator. This simply means accessing GMail Wap (http://m.gmail.com) using a wap emulator from the web cheating any proxy or firewall. I tried accessing the wap site being monitored by the websense system and it still worked.

Access GMail Wap using dotMobi Emulator
In the example above i am using dotMobi emulator and as you can see it works fine. You can use any web based Wap sites as an alternative but websense seems to still block those emulators which are not Java based.
Please take note that this workaround is for those who need to access GMail in urgency and to obtain mostly text based information from the email, and not as a replacement for full GMail system. I use to obtain mainly activation codes sent to my mail.
If you guys have any other information on accessing GMail behind firewall, please leave a comment or even if you find any other emulator sites that works please update the rest.
